Max Speak

Jann Arden has a huge week this week as her single Bring The Boys Home moves 6-3* to become her first Top 5 hit. The song is pretty much considered to be her biggest hit on The Max. Her only other Top 10 appearance was Thing For You in 2002 when that song hit #9. Jann also has another Top 100 entry this week as At Seventeen is new at #84.
Jann's new CD release Uncover Me also becomes her first #1 album in almost twelve years! The new release is her seventh album to make an appearance and her third consecutive Top 10 after Greatest Hurts made it to #10 last year and Jann Arden entered at #5 in 2005. In addition to Jann's #1 debut, the CD receives a Max Gold certification.

Along with Jann, Fall Out Boy get a Gold CD this week with Infinity On High, which opens up at #3, tying the peak of their first album From Under The Cork Tree. The certification system was changed this week to reflect the higher-than-expected volume of certifications on The Max. Now, in order for an album to go Gold, it must receive 50 plays in total on my iTunes (and iPod) instead of the previous 25. And songs must get 20 plays instead of 10. As a result, the certification section will be slow for awhile as songs play catchup. All songs previously awarded will keep their certifications though.

Below the Top 40 this week, thirteen songs enter the Top 100. That makes it the highest number of new entries on the Max since October 18th, 2003 when there were 14 entries, the most notable of which was Sheryl Crow at #43 with The First Cut Is The Deepest. Also entering that week were songs by Nelly Furtado (Powerless #51), Finger Eleven (One Thing #64), Evanescence (My Immortal #85) and Christina Aguilera (The Voice Within #99).
This week's big week of entries include new tracks from Shaye (You're Not Alone #77), Mika (Grace Kelly #81), and Christina Aguilera (Candyman #91).

Fergie has another big hit of hers enter the chart this week. Last year, London Bridge made it to #2. Glamorous earns the title of Biggest Riser this week as it jumps up 29 to land at #37.
