Max Speak

Every once in a while, a chart will have so much going on that I will dub it a "key chart" and this chart is one of them because there's so much going on. There are EIGHT Top 40 entries as well as nine debuts in the Top 100 overall, three of which come on within the Top 40 and one enters at the top of the chart, the first song to debut at #1 since Wonderful by Chantal Kreviazuk did it late last year.

Serena Ryder comes out of nowhere to have a huge week this week! First off, she enters at #1 with her first hit Weak In The Knees. In addition to that, she has another high Top 100 entry at #39 with Good Morning Starshine. Her album If Your Memory Serves You Well also enters at #1 on the album chart which is more than likely the first time ever that an artist debuted at #1 on the album AND singles chart at the same time, and giving that this is Serena's first chart appearance on either makes the achievement that much greater!

Also entering the Top 40 this week is the latest release from Maroon 5. Their new CD hits stores at some point this spring but their first single Makes Me Wonder is exploding at radio and debuts at #34 on the overall Top 100. In terms of entries for the band, it's their third highest, following Sunday Morning which debuted at #17 the first week of 2005, and She Will Be Loved entered the chart at #30 in 2004.

Other major Top 100 entries this week include Mika with Love Today (#52), Tori Amos's Big Wheel (#56), Over It by Katherine McPhee (#75) and Not Fade Away by Sheryl Crow (#96).
