Max Speak

After last week's stagnet Top 10, this week's chart sees alittle more action as some change is sure to occur over the next number of weeks. Three songs from last week's Top 5 lose their bullet as tracks from lower in the Top 10 look to take their place. Brandi Carlile hangs in at #1 for a fourth week with no immediate thread from below her aside from Melissa McClelland who storms up 34-11* with her latest single Skyway Bridge.

Fergie leaps into the Top 40 this week with her third single as a solo artist to do so on Big Girls Don't Cry (Personal) (61-17*). The song is also the week's biggest mover for a second week in a row after last week's jump of 33 positions, it moves up 44 more this week. As of this week, it is also close to becoming Fergie's second highest charting single behind only London Bridge which got to #3 last summer and her recent #15 peak for Glamorous.

In addition to Fergie is an entry from Avril Lavigne with a song that initially got a poor review when it was first released but it still managed to inch into the Top 40 regardless. Girlfriend is her 13th Top 40 appearance but it looks like it may be her second lowest peaking single regardless, above only Sk8er Boi (#49). Either way, Avril is still not in immediate danger as her next single When You're Gone makes a big jump on the chart this week moving 94-54*.

Blue October officially hold the record on The Max for the artist with the most Platinum singles since the certification system came into effect for singles last fall. So far, their hits Hate Me, Into The Ocean and X Amount Of Words (23-32) have made that mark. This week, the fourth single from their newly certified Double Platinum CD Foiled enters the chart. She's My Ride Home is new at #62 as the week's highest Top 100 entry.
