Max Speak

Serena Ryder carries on her role as bearer of #1s as Weak In The Knees makes an unexpected move from 3-1 after five weeks out of the top spot. This week's return brings that single to a total of five weeks at #1 tying her with the Decemberists for the artist with the longest running chart topping hit of 2007 so far with O Valencia.

Avril Lavigne didn't have a long period of being down when Girlfriend failed to perform as well as her previous hits as When You're Gone leaps 31-16* en route to become what may be her tenth Top 10 single.

David Usher leads the week's four Top 40 entries as Ugly Is Beautiful leaps 52-21* to also become the chart's biggest riser. The single is the second from his Max-certified Double Platinum CD Strange Birds. The song also becomes his 11th Top 40 hit and it looks likely it will be his 10th Top 10. Only See You Fall failed to make the Top 10 but that could be attributed to the fact that during its chart run, this chart went on a 5-month hiatus. Officially, the song peaked at #37 but hypothetically, it may have continued his string of Top 10 singles.

Timbaland earns his second Top 40 single this week as the lead artist with The Way I Are moving 45-33*. Give It To Me peaked at #7 earlier this year and of course Timbo has had a string of hits as a featured artist and producer including Promiscuous, Sexyback and Ice Box along with previous singles with Missy Elliott and being a part of the remix of Turn Off The Light by Nelly Furtado, which went on to give longevity to that song which helped it become The Max's #1 song of 2001 (link).
