Max Speak

It's a big week for Max certifications this week as two singles receive the rare Double Platinum certification. Serena Ryder and Brandi Carlile both go Double Platinum with their respective hits Weak In The Knees and The Story. Now, while they aren't the first songs to do so, they are the first to do so under the new certification system which has been in place since February. Before February, a song only needed 40 iTunes plays (on my iTunes) to get Double Platinum, and three songs did so: Wonderful by Chantal Kreviazuk, Say It Right by Nelly Furtado and The Long Way Around by Dixie Chicks. They kept their titles despite the change in requirements which now needs 80 plays, a level to which neither of those songs have made yet but are nearly there.
Also going multiplatinum is The Con by Tegan and Sara, the album. The disc becomes their fourth CD to reach that status. They also go Platinum with its first single Back In Your Head as well.

Speaking of the power duo, they hang on to the top of The Max Chart for a sixth week in a row with their single The Con. That puts the track in second place for the longest running #1 of the year behind only Weak In The Knees, which enjoyed 11 weeks on top previous to this song.

Timbaland storms onto the Top 100 with a remix of a song by One Republic called Apologize. It's his highest chart entrance and also the highest of the two singles currently charting from his album Shock Value, with The Way I Are moving back up 27-23*. Give It To Me previously peaked at #7, just one higher than the debut position of Apologize new at #8.
