Max Speak

Tegan and Sara remain invincible as The Con hangs on to the #1 spot on the song's chart for a 9th week, just two weeks behind the year's longest running chart topper Weak In The Knees. Meanwhile, the CD of the same name is #1 for the 8th week, two weeks behind The Story as the year's longest running #1. This must surely be the longest time that a single title has topped both charts simultaneously and consecutively.

David Usher enters the Top 100 at #13 this week with Some People Say, the third release from his hit CD Strange Birds. So far with this release, David has made the Top 10 twice with The Music (#2) and Ugly Is Beautiful (#7). Both songs also have received The Max Platinum certifications. This week, Some People Say already goes Gold. This is because the song has received enough airplay for me since the release of the album that as soon as it was announced as an official release, it automatically becomes eligible for certification.

This week, two versions of Umbrella are on the chart. Of course, there's the original version by Rihanna which falls 57-60. And then there's the AOL-Live cover by Mandy Moore, which is an entry at #74. This marks the first time since... probably ever, that two versions of the same song by different artists have made the chart at the same time. I'd need to double check however as I'm sure it has happened before...
