Tegan and Sara continue their reign of the top of the chart with The Con, which is the longest running consecutive #1 single of 2007. And with only 13 charts left of the year, it's highly doubtful that anybody will beat them. Of course, when it comes to total weeks at #1, they share that feat with Weak In The Knees by Serena Ryder, who held on to the top for 11 non-consecutive weeks.

The three entries in the Top 40 this week all come from artists who have other tracks rising within the Top 40 as well. Amy Winehouse is already on the up with You Know I'm No Good, which moves 16-14* this week as well as holding at #9 with Rehab.
Fall Out Boy are 18-18* with their newest single Me And You while the third release from Infinity On High entitled The Take Over, The Break's Over finally ventures into the Top 40 by moving 41-35*. On a related note, they too, have three songs inside the Top 100. Thnks Fr Th Mmrs re-enters the chart at #99.
And finally, once again the highest chart entry in as many weeks comes from David Usher. After debuting at #12 two weeks back, he has another high entry with So Far Down, another one of his songs getting airplay in Canada and what looks to be the more official of the two tracks, however it seems airplay is nearly split as is radio station support so both So Far Down and Some People Say (5-5*) have been deem eligable to chart. And like Amy and FoB, David has a third charting single with Ugly Is Beautiful (81-88).

Lately, there has been an influx of older charting songs doing well late in their chart careers. There has been numerous hits from Pink this year to do well despite being old, including U + Ur Hand, Leave Me Alone (I'm Lonely) (51-57) and her latest Who Knew (4-4*), which beat its previous peak of last year's #9 soon after passing the 40-week mark. Then there's the recent case of Rehab by Amy Winehouse, who is only now on the downfall despite spending over half a year inside the chart. Dragonette are also on the re-rise with their first hit I Get Around. That song peaked at #11 over the summer, fell down and nearly out of the Top 40 but this week re-enters the Top 20 in its 29th chart week. And finally, a less extreme example but one that will inevitable turn into a good one is John Mayer. His latest Dreaming With A Broken Heart had a less than stellar start only to leap 33-15* in its second week inside the Top 40 but 15th week on the Top 100 overall.
