Without Me
Eminem is back again with his alter egos Shady and Slim and everyone else and his style hasn't changed one bit. He still disses whoever he wants to. This time it's Fred Durst (again), Chris of 'N Sync and Moby with mentions of Elvis and Prince. The rapping style is still the same as The Real Slim Shady and My Name Is with elements of D12's Purple Pills in it. But his ego is beginning to get a bit out of control. Will Eminem be the hit he was two years ago? This song is pointing him back in that direction but his controversial ways aren't as big a deal as they used to be. The song is catchy though. B05/04/02
Cleaning Out My Closet
A lot of people would say that Eminem is yesterday's news. His attempts of making news aren't controversial because they've been overdone. His songs about himself make him seem even more egotistical than he was before. His problems are the same as they always were and the songs all share the same subject that people are sick of. He does show signs of maturity and changing in this song but it's the same old Slimmy. The vocals sound similar to the gritty The Way I Am. I like the mandolin in this song though. B08/03/02
Eminem is the most successful rap artist on The Max chart. He's the only one to have two #1 singles as well as two #1 albums on the album chart. In addition to that, he's had another eight Top 10 hits spanning from 2000 to 2006 when he unofficially retired. He's sure to continue to at least have featured roles in future hits so his chart career definately won't end here.
