Call Me When You're Sober
Evanescence had radio in the palm of their hands in 2003 when Bring Me To Life and My Immortal. Three years later, Amy Lee has a lot to prove after the departure of Ben Moody and with this, the first release from the upcoming new album, she seems to have made a step in the right direction. I really like the beginning of the song. By not using the obvious guitars and drums as the intro shows that the band can rely on more than the typical backup. But the typical backup comes in for the chorus. That's fine though because that's the type of band Evanescence is. We've come to expect it from them. Amy's voice is powering but not overpowering, yet, the way it was on a lot of the Fallen CD. It's a good return. B08/06/06
Evanescence had a career-making first single with Bring Me To Life that was enough to bring the band and their album to life. The album spawned three more singles including their biggest hit to date My Immortal in 2004. Both of their CDs have opened up in the charts at #3 and with the release of the second disc The Open Door, Amy Lee and crew are sure to continue their success.
