Standing Still
The best 4:30 minutes I've heard in a long time. Jewel mixes folk with rock and pop again to make an amazing pop gem that is a sound for sore ears in these times of pop teens. I really hope this is a welcome return of all of the Lilith Ladies and I hope Jewel is greatly successful with this song but because of music lately, she may not go as far as one might think with it. Either way, this song has convinced me to get her new CD in November and to say right away this this has a shot at #1 on The Max. A09/29/01
Break Me [Radio Remix]
After 11 weeks of being at #1 with 'Standing Still', Jewel follows that up with a remix to 'Break Me', track 4 on her 'Spirit' CD. I was disappointed that that was the next choice as a single since it is my least favourite studio track on the album, although when I look at it, it's among the few radio friendly ones. I recently heard the remix to the song and it is refreshing to the original. That's not to say the original is dull but the added music to the radio remix is much better. B04/20/02
Good Day
This song stands out more than 'Again And Again' did. As a song, I think it has more good points than the previous single and the chorus is definately catchy. Jewel returns to her roots while still keeping her sound modern and radio friendly. Unfortunately, I think the downside of this song is immediately the spoken verses. I don't think they can be appreciated from a radio-listener point-of-view and that will result in Jewel's latest flop and maybe the end of the album as a whole since she isn't usually successful in picking her album back up after having a single flop. Quest For Love
This song is from the Arther and the Invisibles soundtrack but based on the sound and style, would fit right in on Spirit. It is something that I think could grow on me but after a week or so, it hasn't yet quite done much for me. After 0304, Jewel hasn't been able to really make an incredibly catchy song that even that CD did have a couple of and I wonder if maybe she is trying too hard to return to the sound she had before then. I'm not inspired but I'm still willing to trust that Jewel has more gems awaiting to come out of her.

Jewel's chart success predates the history of The Max by about 2 years. Therefore, three of her biggest radio hits Who Will Save Your Soul, You Were Meant For Me and Foolish Games aren't listed among her chart history here. Her first charting single was actually a live collaboration during the days of Lilith Fair with Sarah McLachlan and the Indigo Girls called 'Water Is Wide' that charted before The Max chart became a Top 100. Her album Spirit had two #1 singles from it: Hands and Jupiter (Swallow The Moon) but it was the first single from her third CD that really shook things up. Standing Still broke the record for longest running #1 single on The Max by lasting 11 weeks in a row there. A record that stood for almost three years. She had her fourth #1 with Intuition in 2003.
On the album side, Jewel has had each of her CDs topping the album chart with This Way being the most successful at 13 weeks on top.
