When You Were Young
New Killers material! It's similar to that of Hot Fuss but throw in alittle of what mainstream radio would want to play and you have the new single. It's great. Not to the extent that Mr. Brightside and All These Things That I've Done are great though. This song will more than likely have a short shelf life but their album is looking to be one of the biggest new releases this fall. Long live the Killers. This song can stay on the second shelf. Bones
This song sways more from the sound the Killers established themselves with Hot Fuss in 2004. Even moreso than When You Were Young has. That's not to say it's a bad thing. Bones lends itself to be a classic sounding modern rock song. Brandon's singing really stands out to me as it seems like he wants to make the song a true rock n' roll song of the modern era without all the tweaks and production-work. The bridge reminds me of something out of a Bowie song, complete with a horns section. This song could have been lifted off of a lost oldies record, remastered and placed strategically on Sam's Town.

The Killers stormed onto sales charts in late 2004 and quickly became one of the best new artists of that time period. In 2005, Mr. Brightside became a #1 Max hit, eventually going on to become the #1 song of the entire year. While their album Hot Fuss didn't fare as well as the songs, they still paved a way for ensured future success. Unfortunately for them, however, their next big hit All These Things That I've Done was one of the songs to lose out bigtime during the short hiatus The Max experienced in mid-2005. While the peak of the song will remain lost to that time, in the long run, the band will definately continue to raise the numbers of their hits.
