Last Beautiful Girl
What's the course in this song? I thought the intro of the song was the chorus but then after about 40 seconds is a chorus like .... thing. The verses are different though but I think it's the chorus that gives this song it's edge. It's not quite a rocky rock song but it's not pop either. Not the type of song to get Matchbox Twenty any new fans but it oughta sicken non fans of the band. Nothing really special but it's not a bad song. Last Beautiful Girl is the fourth and more than likely final release from Mad Season by Matchbox Twenty. I hear people sighing of relief.

Disease
Rob and the band are back again with the first release from their third CD due out in November. The song is a great mix of pop and rock that reminds me of Eve 6's On The Roof Again... ok, actually, it's just the bass drum that does that. The chorus is great too as it is catchy. The song is storming up The Max chart so it will definately bring the band back near the top of the chart.

Bright Lights
One the the 90s top bands are at it again with an album that came out almost a year ago and its third single Bright Lights. It's a song that has everything a music fan would want in a radio hit. The intro starts off with just a simple, delicate piano and turns into a headturning chorus before breaking into verse 2, full on with drums and guitar. Thus begins my favourite part of the song, which featuring singalong lyrics and imagery of a lonely apartment in the city. After the slight dullness of Unwell, this song is a perfect surprise from a band that is far from over, complete with guitar solo!

Matchbox Twenty are one of the more successful groups on The Max chart. They've had four #1s as well as another additional five Top 10 singles and have consistantly lengthy chart runs with their songs. Bright Lights was also one of the biggest hits of the 2000s so far, spending a then-record breaking 13 weeks at #1. If Rob Thomas teams back up with the band, continued success is ensured.
