You Know I Love You Baby
The new single from Melissa McClelland is a bit of a surprise. She is sounding somewhat more mellow compared to the last album where she was a bit more of a rocker folk chick. This time around, her sound is less mainstream friendly, a bit more folky but she's still sounding great. The original version of the song features a backdrop of violins and a slight bluesy feel while the Jeff Trott mix has an electric essence to it that would probably be more suitable for the radio, if Melissa can get radio support this time around. Melissa McClelland blasted out of nowhere to hit #1 for seven weeks with Jaded, a single from her #1 CD Stranded In Suburbia. Entering the music business with a handful of useful friends like Luke Doucet and Dave Ogilvie, she was a force to be reckoned with from the getgo. Ending 2004 with one of the top albums of the year, she carried into 2005 with a second big Max single Pretty Blue. 2006, she released the followup record Thumbelina's One Night Stand with guest spots by Greg Keeler from Blue Rodeo and Sarah McLachlan. The album's first single You Know I Love You Baby also carries on the new Melissa tradition of charting high.
