Hey Man
Nelly Furtado's songs aren't typical in today's music with the odd sounding instruments and styles that she brings into them. Turn Off The Light was something that we don't hear often and the intro in Hey Man is different. I particularly like the chorus in this one because of how Nelly sings it. It's a perfect song to sing along to. It's not a boring song to say the least and I hope it can half the same success as her first 3 hits. B12/08/01
Maneater
With the release of Nelly Furtado's second single from Loose, her sound is more suited for the club on Maneater. So it's a clubbanger. I find it somewhat odd that it's getting released now even though the fall is coming along. I would think this song would be more suited for the summer but that's what Promiscuous did and both songs can't be released together... in the same country. I think this song will fare well however since Nelly is hot right now and this song is too. It's instantly catchy, even moreso than Promiscuous even though I think it has a quicker burnout rate... well, maybe not considering the song is hitting 30 weeks on The Max chart. B09/14/06
Give It To Mewith Timbaland and Justin Timberlake
Timbaland has produced another winner. The biggest producer of 2006 continues his sound into the new year and he does it by enlisting the vocalists behind his two biggest hits of last year Nelly Furtado and Justin Timberlake. I think the three of them together have earned this song, which is essentially their bragging song. The song is backed with another catchy beat along with a singable chorus and features a verse each from Timbaland, Nelly and Justin, with Nelly doing double duties for the chorus as well. Probably just a precursor to Tim's new album that's supposed to drop soon, it will surely be the big hit for the slump early months of 2007.

All Good Things (Come To An End)
How do you follow up one of the year's top tracks? Release something alittle less uptempo but still with a haunting feeling. This song is right out of 1996 pop music and I couldn't have it any better! I don't know if I can call this song Nelly's best release because I still need to warm up to it more but it's the perfect song for the purposes of summer nostalgia, despite it being a current song, I just can't shake the feeling that it's a portal into the not-so-distant past. It tells me that the goodness of childhood comes to an end in that aspect. Nelly scores again!A03/24/07
Nelly Furtado got her start in late 2000 with a catchy light-pop song titled I'm Like A Bird that begun her string of Top 10 hits. When all was said and done, her first album gave her four Top 10 hits including the #1 song of 2001 with Turn Off The Light. Nelly's ability to do the style of music she was known for at the time as well as her collaborations with hip-hop artists like Timbaland, Swollen Members, Missy Elliott and more was a rare commodity. Today, after another successful album with another huge #1, she's onto her third CD which has so far given her two more Top 10 singles and has catapulted her career into the forefront of mainstream culture.
