Hey Babyfeaturing Bounty Killer
Ever since Gwen's last CD with the rest of the band, she's had Top 10 collaborations with Moby and Eve, the latter of which spent 7 weeks at #1. She definately took lessons from them to the next level for this next CD. At least it shows with this song. They keep their original ska sound which I thought was missing from Simple Kind Of Life but add in new sounds to make this fresh, catchy smash in the making. It won't be as big a hit as Don't Speak or replace their signature Spiderwebs but it'll keep Gwen in the spotlight.

Hella Goodfeaturing Bounty Killer
Gwen and the group follow up Hey Baby with another electronic-sounding dancy song. Like Hey Baby, this one can get annoying after just a short time. I didn't get annoyed by Hey Baby and I doubt this one will either but speaking in general terms... I do admit though that I am pretty surprised at the sudden popularity this song is getting. I didn't think it would be well recieved but it's off to an excellent start. The guitar solo is probably the highlight of this song.

It's a shame that No Doubt's best years aren't reflected in their chart history here. Judging by just what's above, their success doesn't appear to come close to their actual achievements had The Max been around in 1995. From 2000 onward, No Doubt has had only three Top 10 singles with Hey Baby being their biggest hit. If their chart history could include Tragic Kingdom, Hey Baby would probably be their fourth biggest hit. Alas, they've still done a lot as a band and Gwen carries the torch as a solo singer.
