Soak Up The Sun
Sheryl is helping bring female rock back to mainstream... with a pop song. This is a nice song for Summer and by the time it catches on, it will be Summer but then again, it could be forgotton about back then because female rock isn't being welcomed back into mainstream anymore... even if it is with pop music. This song is probably Sheryl's most popped up song but I hope her whole CD isn't like this. She's at her best when she's giving southern rock music, or in the days of Tuesday Night Music Club and Sheryl Crow. It's good to see her back though!B03/23/02
Sheryl Crow has been with The Max from the beginning... before the beginning. In 1994, she stormed into the music scene with his from her Tuesday Night Music Club album, all of which would have been big Max hits. Her second album, titled Sheryl Crow would have continued on even stronger. But it was the third The Globe Sessions that incidentally gave Sheryl her start here as that was when The Max was born. Sheryl's place in the music industry today is a strong one. Even with some questionable covers (of songs by VERY respectable rock bands) that I personally loved, she has collaborated with some of music's most important and respected rock and rollers herself including Mick Jagger and Stevie Nicks. Her major point however was with her two back-to-back #1 singles in Picture and The First Cut Is The Deepest and a combined total of 105 weeks on the chart with those two songs alone. She's one of the few artists today capable of making it to classic rock status a la Fleetwood Mac.
