A Great Big World are a happy pair with a very positive outlook. Despite the success of their tear-jerking ballad Say Something, their album boasts bouncy melodies with messages about love and a better tomorrow. They might be said to be a couple of dreamers with their heads in the clouds, and in today’s world, that might not be such a bad thing.
Upon hearing Say Something, which is currently a Top 10 hit with megastar-in-return Christina Aguilera, I was excited to find out what else this New York indie-pop duo had to offer following what is one of the pivotal pop music moments of 2014 so far.
Most artists have a relatively expected turnover for their albums, whether they release every two years or every four, most tend to be pretty consistent. There are some artists I follow, however, that seem to have fallen out of their cycle meaning there may or may not be a new album on the horizon.
Here’s a list of a few women off the top of my head overdue for new music who haven’t confirmed anything new is coming that I’d like to see new albums from.
Since breaking out as a solo artist, Beyoncé has been regarded as one of top pop stars of the new millennium. Even I, at one point, have said she’s the most likely to be dubbed a ‘legend’. Yet, her musical output has never been truly exceptional, with Single Ladies, Crazy In Love and Irreplaceable being her ‘classics’ so far. So how can her pop-star status and such an empty prediction be justified?
